Spring’s Whirlwind: Dahlias, The Flower Shack, and Farm Life in Full Swing

A stack of orders ready to be shipped to our awesome customers!

Kicking Off Dahlia Shipping Season

This week was a big one—we officially started shipping out all of our dahlia tuber orders! We’ve already gotten through most of them, and we’ll keep going next week until every last one is on its way.

Our team has been working tirelessly, packing each order with care. Whether it’s me or one of our amazing crew, every single box is handled with love and attention before it heads out the door.

Behind the Scenes on the Farm

While part of the team has been packing orders in the barn, the rest have been busy keeping the farm moving forward. This week, that meant:

  • Transplanting seedlings

  • Renovating high tunnels after the winter

  • Getting our smaller propagation house up and running

Campanula starts freshly transplanted.

That last project is especially exciting—it means we can move even more plants over, continuing what we’ve been calling The Great Plant Shuffle of 2025! 😄

This time of year is always a whirlwind. The weather starts to warm, and suddenly everything needs to happen all at once:
🌱 Plants to plant
📦 Orders to ship
🌾 Fields to work
🪴 More seeds to sow for summer flowers

It’s a lot to juggle, but I’m so grateful for my team and support system. No matter how busy things get, I’m still a mom first—and making time for my girls will always be a priority.

The Flower Shack Is Open for the Season 🌼

We officially opened The Flower Shack for the season today! From now through December, we’ll be open every Friday and Saturday.

While fresh flowers aren’t quite ready yet, we had plenty of treasures—plants, dahlia tubers, willow wreaths, and more.

True to tradition, I wasn’t completely ready for opening day 😅. My team had the space beautifully stocked while I was still in the office making signs and printing flower photos.

Through all the hustle, a sweet moment stood out. Our first customers of the season arrived as I was mid-sign-making. I apologized for being behind, but they just smiled and told me they’d marked our opening day on their calendar and couldn’t wait to shop for tubers.

That simple exchange meant the world—it reminded me that these newsletters really do connect us, and that you’re out there following along.

Grateful for You

Thank you to everyone who showed up for opening day, and thank you for reading, supporting, and being part of this flower-filled adventure. We couldn’t do it without you.

See you soon at The Flower Shack!
