SHIPPING APRIL 2026

Derek Bircumshaw is a striking bright yellow regular incurve heirloom chrysanthemum that announces the start of mum season with bold, show-stopping blooms. An early variety, it produces strong, upright stems topped with large, perfectly rounded flowers that light up the field or garden. Abundant and reliable, Derek Bircumshaw is a fantastic choice for both cut flower growers and home gardeners.

Bloom Size: 5–6 inches
Plant Height: 3–4 ft
Bloom Time: Late September – Mid October
Stem Quality: Long, sturdy stems with very large full blooms; support recommended
Best Uses: Market bouquets, cut flower production, fall garden displays

🌱 Growing Notes: May require frost protection depending on your zone. Heirloom chrysanthemums are not winter-hardy in most areas; we recommend treating them as tender perennials in Zones 7a and colder.
