Whirlaway Heirloom Chrysanthemum Rooted Cutting

from $15.50

SHIPPING APRIL 2026

Whirlaway is a stunning lavender-purple heirloom chrysanthemum with spoon-shaped petals that add unique texture to bouquets and gardens alike. This variety is a vigorous, well-branching plant that produces abundant blooms per stem, making it a reliable choice for both cut flower production and fall displays in the garden.

  • Bloom Time: Mid October – Early November

  • Bloom Size: 2–2.5 inches

  • Plant Height: 3–4 ft

  • Stem Quality: Strong, well-branched stems ideal for bouquet work and floral design

  • Best Uses: Farmers’ market bouquets, florist work, or as a striking addition to the autumn landscape

  • Growing Notes: May require frost protection depending on your zone. Heirloom chrysanthemums are not winter-hardy in most areas; we recommend treating them as tender perennials in Zones 7a and colder.

💛 Why We Love It
The name originally drew our attention because Whirlaway was my grandmother’s nickname, given to her by my grandfather when they started dating back in the 1940s. We soon fell in love with its fun spoon petals, and every season we look forward to the way its blooms make our bouquets sparkle. This is one flower we know will be part of our farm for years to come.
